Privacy policy

The full receipt for fliplab.fyi: what gets logged, which cookies ads and affiliate stores may set, and how to switch off personalized ads.

Here’s what fliplab.fyi keeps when you visit, itemized like a receipt.

Nothing to sign up for

No accounts, no comments, no profile. There’s nothing here to log in to.

The server’s tally

Each page you open adds a line to the server’s access log: your IP address, your browser, the page and a time stamp. We go through it to catch attacks and broken pages, and old lines get tossed on a rolling basis.

Ads and their cookies

Ads from other companies, Google among them, may turn up on FlipLab. What their cookies do:

  • Ad companies, Google included, set cookies so the ads you get can be based on sites you visited earlier, this one included.
  • Google’s ad cookies let Google and the partners it works with pick ads for you from your trips around FlipLab, the rest of the web, or both.
  • Google lays out the details on its partner sites policy page.

Turning off personalized ads

Click an affiliate link and the store on the other end may set a cookie so it knows FlipLab sent you. Once you’re on their site, their privacy policy is the one that counts.

Kids

FlipLab is for adults doing their own buying and selling. It isn’t meant for anyone under 13, and we don’t knowingly keep any information about kids.
